2012 Aztec's say the world will "End" but how.

One of the most successful campaigns I ran to date was using the GURPS 3rd edition rules and it was based on The Stand by Stephen King. It ran for nearly 9 years in 3 different arcs. Now with the 2012 predictions the idea of running a new end of the world game is starting to form. The new game would be similar in start; Normal folks living there lives till all hell breaks loose. If we draw from various sources on the end of the world we should be able to come to some ideas on the best way to destroy everything. The main focus on the game is not so much the destruction of the world but how the survivors gather and cope.

In the Stand you have a man-made plague wipe everyone out. In bible the crap hits the fan in all sorts of ways and the meek inherit the earth...meaning the survivors. In some interpretations the meek were not the beloved of God and lifted to Heaven. Instead they were those that did not make a choice between good and evil and instead tried to hide from both... they were those that were left behind after the Gates of Heaven were closed and the Devil got his due. The Aztecs have their own version of what happens and based on translation for some is the end of the world and for others it is the end of the way things are now.. the beginning of something new.

I will likely draw ideas from both from Armageddon and the Aztec writings plus ideas from my previous campaigns to build the foundation for the world. I will try not to use GURPS this time and will utilize the new Pathfinder RPG added the modern content to it that I need for flavor.
